Here’s what to include (and optimize) in your content for effective on-page SEO:
1. Title Tag (Meta Title)
- Keep it under 60 characters
- Include your target keyword early
- Make it compelling to boost CTR (click-through rate)
Example:
“Affordable Web Design Services | NYC Digital Studio”
2. Meta Description
- Under 160 characters
- Include keywords naturally
- Summarize the page content to entice clicks
Example:
“Looking for professional and affordable web design in NYC? Get responsive, SEO-friendly websites that convert visitors into customers.”
3. Header Tags (H1, H2, H3…)
- Use H1 for the main page title (only once)
- Use H2s and H3s for organizing subtopics
- Include keywords in headers naturally
4. Keyword Optimization
- Use your primary keyword in:
- The first 100 words
- H1 tag
- URL
- Image alt text (where relevant)
- Sprinkle LSI (related) keywords throughout
